Or as I like to call it, TJ Flats. Immediately greeted by 17 year old girls with a courtesy door open. I look at the menu and see your common tex mex menu. So far so good. Then I notice the cheesy (no pun intended) hot sauce branding complete with four letter words. I'm a foul mouthed person, but I don't think this is the place for it. Still the service is great so far. The food exceeded my expectations and it was a great value.

Worth trying!

I'm not often a patron of chain restaurants however, I do enjoy some Tijuana Flats. We were excited when this location opened up and have been there quite a few times since. The staff is friendly and the food is consistent. Taco Tuesdays are a great deal and as a mostly vegetarian I really like the black bean burrito.

Not bad - friendly up beat place- great happy hour prices on draft beers. Food is typical tex mex - ok, generous portions at a reasonable price. Sauce bar is great! Something for everyone. this is a nice alternative to Moes Southwest Grill- the food is similar but parking is much better and love the outdoor patio seating and beer choices. There's a TV set usually playing a sporting event- something to watch while eating chips and tacos. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

This is a brand new location in Fort Myers. I bumped into this Tijuana Flats on my way to do some shopping at Publix. I was so happy to see there was a TF's here because I was starving and driving around an unfamiliar town. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff. I ordered my food and walked over to their famous hot sauce table. Yum! A few minutes later a very happy waitress came by with my food and we chatted for a second. Then later the manager came outside to check on me. Everyone was so friendly and the food was excellent! I definitely recommend this place and I wish them good luck at their new restaurant.

Tasted pretty good. I had their chicken and black bean tacos. Nice and fresh. Comparable to Moes Southwest Grill.

Good food and service. It would be 5 if you got waited on at table and not have to wait at a register like a fast food joint. Like that patio area is pet friendly

Much better quality food than Taco Bell. The people who work here have always been very friendly. I feel their rice and beans combo is a bit small. But the manager has given me more rice (free). Sauce bar is great for those who enjoy it. Over all if your looking for some Americanized Mexican food definitely stop by, I did and would again.

I love this place! People are nice and I love their tacos and burritos. I am there once a week and have never had a bad or ok meal. For a quick meal with awesome sauces try this place.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food DO NOT go here. Just gross. Couldn't even finish my burrito. I asked for a wet burrito (usually wet means; green or red enchilada sauce) and they gave me a "wet" burrito smothered in pasteurized QUESO cheese. Disgusting. Couldn't even finish more than a few bites of anything. Not to mention everything came out cold, when everything is supposed to be made to order and fresh... Chicken taco was cold and dry. Steak "wet" burrito was tough. Will never go here again. Sauces aren't even that good either. Mexican connoisseur from Southern California and this was no good at all.

Yet another americanized mexican spot. Some good hot sauces, but beer not nearly cold enough. What happened to frosted mugs? Ok tacos in a pinch, but nothing authentic here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
